Sustainability at Mantra Coolangatta Beach

At Mantra Coolangatta Beach, our dedication to sustainability permeates every aspect of our daily operations. We understand that sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are continuously working to decrease our carbon footprint. Below, you'll find a summary of the initiatives we've undertaken so far.

Dry Amenities

In our guest rooms, we've taken significant strides to reduce single-use plastics. As part of this endeavour, we've made the bold decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps. Instead, guests can request these amenities through room service or by visiting our reception, contributing to our commitment to a plastic-free environment and preserving our planet for future generations.

Large Amenities

Continuing our efforts, we've transitioned to large-format amenities, replacing single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By doing away with single-use plastic bottles, we're actively reducing the waste generated by our operations. This move underscores our dedication to environmental stewardship and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to enhancing sustainability across all aspects of our hotel.

Recycling

At Mantra Coolangatta Beach, we meticulously separate hotel waste into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste, and general waste, effectively minimizing our impact on landfills. Furthermore, we've implemented several measures to further conserve water and embrace a circular system, including removing all single-use plastic drink bottles, prioritizing local suppliers within the Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales regions, and ordering in bulk to reduce our carbon footprint.

We are proud to be a Sustainable Tourism Certified hotel with Ecotourism Australia. The Sustainable Tourism Certification program assesses our environmental, socio-economic, cultural and responsible management principles to ensure we are minimising our negative impacts and maximising benefits for the environment, communities and culture. This achievement reinforces our ongoing commitment to delivering sustainable hospitality and creating positive impacts for our team, guests, local community and planet.

Accessibility

At Mantra Coolangatta Beach, we strive to accommodate the diverse needs of all our guests.

While we do not have any certified accessible rooms, our property is lift accessible allowing ease of access to all of our floors. Our spacious, open-plan apartments allow for ease of mobility within and additional equipment including shower chairs, can be hired on request.

Our friendly staff are available to assist with any specific accessibility needs or requests to ensure that every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay with us.
